Invite link: what happens after someone taps it

In words

  1. App already installed (left): tap the link → web page → Open HOOP → the app receives the code. After the fix the app is listening from the moment it opens, so the code is kept. With Invite-Only ON, “Join HOOP” opens with it already filled in and they tap Continue (changed 2026-09-28 evening, see hoop-docs.pages.dev/invite-confirm); with it OFF there is no page. Nothing to type or paste.
  2. Before the fix: the app only started listening after someone was logged in. People with an invite code are not logged in yet, so the code was dropped and “Join HOOP” showed an empty field (Leong's two screenshots).
  3. App not installed (right): after installing from TestFlight the app has no link, so it can't know the code. Two ways in: go back to the invite page and tap Open HOOP (then it's automatic), or tap Paste on “Join HOOP” (the invite page copies the code when it's tapped).
  4. Not built: making the fresh-install path automatic too needs a server “matching” service. That is a separate, bigger piece.
